Separate, But Together

Haven't been able to post in a few days.
Aside from work or the garden, I've been with you non-stop.
....and I love every minute of it.
I wouldn't mind being with you all of the time.

Here we are, reading books, by some awkward fireplace in Panera,
and I'll catch you glancing at me from behind your book,
or you'll tap my foot with your own to get my attention,
and we'll share a soup spoon with our lips.

Driving In Cars With Boys

This week is the first time in a decade that I don't have a cellphone.

I'm really enjoying the freedom, the peace.

Today I needed to borrow your phone,
And there I was in the car, using yours,
While we were on a joy ride in my car
that you were driving.

I love sharing everything with you.

We are at this weird stage in our life where we don't quite have real jobs yet.
Then again, we aren't even interested in anything like that.
We're not trying for some white picket fence.

We just need to afford our traveling habit
and pay our debts, our bills.
